You deserve the confidence that comes from having beautiful, thick hair.
And I’m going to help you with that.
Hello, I’m Kathleen Simard!
I’m a certified trichologist of the International Association of Trichologists (IAT).
Plus, I’m a licensed cosmetologist with more than 15 years of experience.
I’ll guide you to the solutions you need to stop hair loss and regrow healthy hair.
As a child, I loved to style hair. It was only natural that I would choose it as a career. But it was another impetus that led me to train in trichology.
While I was at school, my mom lost her hair during chemotherapy. It took a long time to grow back. At first, it was baby fine and a different color.
I did what I could to help her feel pretty, but the problem made her feel very self-conscious.
I wish I’d known then what I do now about stimulating hair growth. I could have saved her months of frustration.
Through the years, I had many clients, both male and female, who were dealing with hair loss for different reasons.
It always made me feel good when I could tell them about shampoos, conditioners, serums, and supplements that could strengthen their hair.
When I first met my husband, I warned him about the alopecia areata I saw developing on his head. As a result, he decided I was handy to have around and decided to keep me!
Now, my goal is to reach a larger audience by way of this site. I want to make it easier for everyone to find the best products for hair growth.
Right after high school, I moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Beauty College School of Cosmetology & Barbering.
It’s an excellent school – I highly recommend it.
After a year, I graduated. Soon afterward, I passed the state board exam to become licensed as a cosmetologist.
I worked in three different salons around the Los Angeles area. I was thrilled to be in culturally diverse neighborhoods as I had real-world practice with various ethnic hairstyles.
Then, once I married, my husband urged me to start my own business.
But after running a successful salon for a few years, I felt like I needed something more. So I reduced my schedule to part-time to go back to school.
I was able to take most of the courses online as I studied trichology. After a little more than two years, I completed the program and did an internship. Then I became certified by the International Association of Trichologists after passing the exam.
But my training never ends as I continue to attend conferences and study topics like endocrinology and nutrition. It’s a necessary part of my career as I must renew my license regularly.
What is a trichologist?
A trichologist is a person that bridges the gap between cosmetology and dermatology.
They are scalp and hair specialists.
When I meet with you, I look at your situation individually and holistically.
I’ll ask you about whether there’s hair loss in your family, your personal experience with it, your diet and health, and the environmental conditions where you live and work.
I might ask for permission to communicate with your family doctor about the medical causes behind your hair loss. At the same time, I might recommend doing blood tests.
I’ll take a look at your hair and scalp. Then, I might take samples to examine with a microscope.
Finally, I’ll make recommendations for the best course of treatment.
Treatments could include topical creams or foams, serums, a change in shampoo, or diet supplements.
I know that not everyone can afford dermatological treatments, and I try to make reasonable suggestions that fit into practically any budget.
Fortunately, it seems like new, more effective products for hair loss are continually appearing on the market.
I have confidence that together, you and I can find the best solution to restore those lustrous locks!
What my site can do for you
Frequently, I’ll publish posts about stopping hair loss and regrowing hair.
I’ll review the top hair growth products so that you understand which ones best fit your situation.
Along the way, I’ll throw in advice about what to avoid so that you don’t waste your money.
Don’t be surprised if I branch out into discussing psoriasis and eczema on the scalp, dandruff, and other issues.
I want you to be able to take good care of your hair so that it’s a source of pride.
Testimonials from my clients
Kathleen is my favorite stylist! She’s kind of like my therapist, too, because she helped me out of a depression. I had just turned 25 and my hairline was receding. I hated looking in the mirror so much! But then Kathleen helped me find a topical serum that worked. After a few months, I was feeling more confident. I won’t let anybody else touch my hair now.
I’ll admit it – I had chronic dandruff. Kathleen did her trichology magic and now my scalp is clean and clear. If I ever have any other problems with my hair you can bet I’m going to see her first.
My husband recommended Kathleen to me because she helped him find the beard growth serum that he loves to use. I love the way she does my hair. Even when I wait too long between cuts, it still looks good. I don’t feel like she’s all about the money, either because she doesn’t recommend unnecessary extras.
